Director/Head Builder

Tyler has wanted to be a builder for as long as he can remember—since about the age of four. At 16, he left school and went straight into the industry, turning that childhood dream into a career.

 These days, when he’s not building for clients, Tyler is often working on renovations at his own home for his young family—always looking for ways to improve and create something better.

Outside of the tools, he enjoys the outdoors, whether that’s hunting, fishing, or simply spending quality time with his family.

Director/Accounts

Lisa was raised in Waipukurau before heading overseas to explore the world, spending a few years based in England. After returning to New Zealand, she and Tyler settled back in Central Hawke’s Bay to put down roots and start their family.

Now a busy mum of two young kids, Lisa’s days are full—but she still makes time for her real passion: farming. She continues to lend a hand on her family’s sheep and beef farm, where she was raised.

While Lisa prefers to leave the building side of things to Tyler and the team, she plays a crucial role behind the scenes. If you’ve received an email from Walker Construction, chances are it’s been from Lisa—keeping everything running smoothly with her sharp eye for detail and invaluable accounting expertise.

Apprentice Builder

Jay started with us in late 2025 making the move into building after working in roofing alongside his dad. Ready for the next challenge, he’s hit the ground running and hasn’t looked back.

Since coming on board, Jay has proven himself to be a valuable member of the team. He brings a strong work ethic, practical skills and a great attitude to every job site.

Outside work, you’ll likely find him out hunting - something he’s genuinely passionate about and never short of a story on.
